This project was the first individual one I have had all year. Our goal was to pick a topic that we were interested that somehow had to do with chemical equilibrium. The end goal was to write a paper discussing and summarizing the sources that we used for research, as well as a social media campaign that would be able to show and teach the public about our project and our findings. The topic that I chose was depression, because I thought it would be interesting to learn about thee effects that this disorder has on the brain. I decided to make a infographic that explained the equilibrium as well as the science behind depression. I learned that the brain is at equilibrium when tall the hormones are balanced, but when they become unbalanced and there maybe is too much f one and not enough of another, then the brain comes out of equilibrium. Le Chatelier's principle backs up this information. The only way for the brain to regain equilibrium is to take antidepressants or other prescription drugs that can bring the hormones back in balance.
